Application Requirements for Foreign Students

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR MASTER PROGRAMS
-Turkish Proficiency
Since instruction language in our graduate programs is Turkish, a B2 level of Turkish is required for Master’s programs.  To have B2 level of Turkish certificate, you need to take an exam in Turkish conducted by TÖMER, an institution that provides Turkish courses to foreigners and conduct examinations. Alternatively, students may have the Turkish Proficiency Exam, conducted by the University. Minimum score is 70/100 in this exam.
 
-The applicants also must have 
1. A cumulative GPA of 2.00/4.00 or 50/100; 
2. A minimum score of 647, 34 from GRE (quantitative) or a minimum score of 467, 57 from GMAT;
3. A minimum score of 50 from TOEFL IBT or 130 from TOEFL CBT or 450 from TOEFL PBT or 5 from overall IELTS.
Directorate of Graduate School of Social Sciences determines the relative positions of the applicants by ranking them according to an average of their scores. The average scores are calculated by taking 25% of GPA, 25% of foreign language scores and 50% of GMAT/GRE scores of the applicants.
Fulfilling all above mentioned requirements, applicants should have the certificate of equivalence of their Undergraduate diploma, issued by Turkish Higher Education Council
 
The applicants have to visit the Graduate School of Social Sciences in person in the enrollment period with the following documents:
 

  • Undergraduate Diploma
  • Transcript
  • B2 Turkish Proficiency Certificate by TÖMER
  • Certificate of Equivalence of the Diploma
  • GRE or GMAT score card
  • TOEFL or IELTS score card
  • 3 passport photographs
  • Valid Passport
  • Residence Permit (if any)

 
 
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR DOCTORAL PROGRAMS 
-Turkish Proficiency
Since instruction language in our graduate programs is Turkish, a C1 level of Turkish is required for Doctoral programs.  To have C1 level of Turkish certificate, you need to take an exam in Turkish conducted by TÖMER, an institution that provides Turkish courses to foreigners and conduct examinations. Alternatively, students may have the Turkish Proficiency Exam, conducted by the University. Minimum score is 70/100 in this exam.
 
-The applicants also must have 
1. A cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.00 or 75/100; 
2. A minimum score of 685 from GRE (quantitative) or a minimum score of 500 from GMAT;
3. A minimum score of 58 from TOEFL IBT or 138 from TOEFL CBT or 455 from TOEFL PBT or 5,5 from overall IELTS.
